I just quit breastfeeding my son after a year. I have had 1 period(it came about 3 weeks after stopping). I am now wondering if I should expect my period to be on the same cycle as before, or if it will be irregular for a while?

I stopped breastfeeding my 13 month old in mid January and was waiting for my period to start. 8 weeks later I had some very light bleeding/spotting for two days. I got nervous and thought maybe implantation bleeding since I had never had a period so light or short before. I had heavy normal periods after my first son was born. I just finished my first pack of pills and today started a little bit of light bleeding but not enough for more than a panty liner. It is just so odd to me because I always used to be such a heavy bleeder, bleeding through super tampons every couple hours. I’m just wondering if someone else has experienced the same and if this is normal? Most women I know got their periods back about 4 weeks after they stopped breastfeeding and the flow was heavier than normal.
