I would Google Dr Jack Newman's lists of breastfeeding myths and use those as inspiration.

You could always do the pro's and con's first. Than the instruments that can help - aka pumps, and breast pads. Than the alternatives.

hey! you could write about how hard it can be at first, and how to keep it up, alot of woman will give up because of the pain etc at the beginning,
also write about how great it is of course.
write about how it is looked down upon by many people especially in public, and we have rights too, i breastfed my son yesterday at a park when my other kids were playing, and some guy started nodding his head my way, and his wife gave me a look of dissaprovement, and i was covering too...
there are so many things
good luck

There are so many things I always needed more infor about while nursing especially my first time breastfeeding.
like...Breastfeeding challenges.
Engorgement
Sore Nipples
Cracked Nipples
Milk Supply
Plugged Milk Ducts
Breast Infections
Breast milk Collection and Storage
Thrush
low supply
Nursing strike
Inverted, flat or very large nipples.
or.......
(Foods to Avoid)
There is no set list of foods that every nursing mother should/should not eat. Some baby's however are more sensitive to certain gassy foods especially in the early weeks or months.

I'd like to see ONE article that takes into account the fact that not all women can breastfeed no matter HOW MUCH they want to.
I was diagnosed with cancer a week after my son was born. Due to surgery and radiation I was only able to breastfeed for one month - and I did until the minute they wheeled me into the operating room.
All the articles I read talked about women who CHOOSE not to breastfeed, and women who CHOOSE to breastfeed. It made me feel so guilty and so bad for my son.
Now I know I did the best I could with what I had and I am a good mom, but you know, even the formula cans say "breastfeeding is the best thing for your baby". Like we don't know that!?! Seriously, you'd have to be living under a rock not to know that.
PLEASE mention in your article that while some women CHOOSE not to breastfeed (and that's just fine), some women CAN'T breastfeed and shouldn't be made to feel guilty about it.

1) That on demand means ON DEMAND. Not "my baby just nursed 20 minutes ago and is now hungry so my milk isn't good enough and I will have to use formula"
2) That during the first 24 hours babies will "practice" rooting even when not hungry (gah!)
3) Normal poop before 4-6 weeks and after
4) That in the early days after baby unlatches you should carefully check your nipple/. A thin white raised line is the start of a crack -get help NOW not when you are bleeding.
5) Medication safety, http://motherisk.org/ (particularly the phone number), LactMed: http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/ht… , safefetus: http://safefetus.com/Search.asp
6) LLL helpline in US, and international website for international. Plus the IBLC webpage to find and IBLC
7) you should breastfeed if mom or baby is sick
Other ideas
*Daddies and breastfeeding (why they don't need to shove a bottle in a baby's mouth to bond -why they bond AS DADDIES)
*Breastmilk is still "enough" long after 6 months. It is not deficient in iron, vitamins, zinc, protein, calories, fat, vitamin D whatever the current bloody excuse is.
*Why "Oh I'll just pump because breastfeeding is icky/so I know what baby is getting/because breastfeeding is too hard
*How it can take up to 8 weeks to learn to latch so don't give up after 2 days
*Accurate information on how to exclusively pump -when it is the only option
*Info on breastfeeding jaundice.
*ACCURATE information on the real risks of exclusive breastfeeding when mom has HIV vs the risks of formula feeding
