I would tough it out until Tuesday. Don't take anything unless it's okayed by your doctor... or break down and call the nurse line.

Ideal is to try to not take anything at all when possible. That is what most pediatricians prefer. I have found this link helpful. Although I write down Dr. info I often misplace it and this one corresponds to much of info I was given. Good luck and Get well soon.

Call a pharmacist at any drug store that is open. They can answer that question. Or call the nurse line. They are always glad to help. Remember almost everything you eat or drink will end up in the breastmilk.

Any of the over the counter medications are considered safe as long as you take them in the recommended dosage. However, anything with sudaphed or PE in it may diminish your milk supply and also cause your baby to be irritable. That being said, I've had to take otc cold meds because of asthma and bronchitis while breastfeeding and not had any problems.

Most OTCs are ok to take while you're breastfeeding. If you're worried, take the medication right before you breastfeed. That way, the milk is already in so there will be very little (if any) of your medication in it. And by the time you're ready to nurse again, most of it will be out of your system. Robitussin is ok to take during pregnancy, so that should be ok to take while nursing also.
