I know I need a pump, and I have chosen that already, but I am wondering what else I really do need for breastfeeding?
Please Help!
Thanks!

you don’t need a pump if you are going to breast feed you only need that if you plan on going back to work or going out without your baby but realy you do not need a pump at first.
    Get a nursing bar
    lanolin for your nips
breast pads if you leak a lot
that’s it unless you have problems with latching or cracked nips
try and fond soothie they are these gel pads for your nips so they heal better and it is so soothing .
You need to be strong it can hurt a lot at first for me it took 4 weeks now my baby is 7 weeks and it is no longer frustersting or painful
So be strong you can do it

There is nothing else you NEED and that is the beauty of breastfeeding :)
You may want to buy some breast pads to contain leaks. Some women leak and others don’t. I still leak 6 months on…and get a drenched top if I don’t wear pads to sleep.
Another thing is nipple cream. This might be helpful for the first few weeks when your nipples are sore.
Try not to use a pump for the first few weeks while you are establishing your supply. Nurse with your baby as often as you can. If you are having production problems then a pump could come in handy to stimulate your production while baby is not on the breast.
Nursing bras are also helpful. They make it so much easier, just click off the strap and go.
    Good luck :)

Well from my personal experience, I did not breastfeed my daughter from my breast because she would not take i.t So I had to pumped. I wanted her to have the benefits of breastmilk. I bought the Medela breast pump which is an electric pump and it comes with most of the accessories. The thing with pumping (if that’s what you intend to do for all the feedings) is that you have to pump every 4 hours. Its a pain in the but, but its the sure way of keeping your body in demand for milk. If you can breast feed without the pump, then that’s great. I pumped for six months straight every 4 hours. That means even getting up in the early morning hours. For me, it was a labor of love.

Depends on if you are planning on feeding her from the breast or from bottles of breastmilk. If the former, breast pads and cream for your nipples. If the latter, a charger (for on the go), a cover blanket (for privacy), storage bottles (some come with the pump, others not), storage baggies, bottles and nipples for the child.

Storage/freezer bags for breast milk. Breast pads. Maybe ointment for your nipples? Bottles of course. If you’ve given the breast, you will probably go through a whole bunch of different bottle nipples! And a lot of them say they’re similar to the breast…not true. My son took Gerber NUK nipples (funny looking ones) & my daughter takes Playtex (brown) nipples….Hope that helps!

I was lucky that ponchos were in style with my kids.
I also liked the car charger, and two sets of attachments if you’ll be pumping alot. The steam sanitizing bags are nice too. And extra membranes if you have a medela – I always lost those.

  8. Elyse's Mama says:

You don’t need anything unless you will be going back to work. Then you need a pump and it typically comes with every accessory for the pump. Breast pads are also handy during those leaky first months.

  9. lorenzo and lily's mommy says:

you want to try nipple guards , and soothing lotion , also those ice packs they sell that can be used hot or cold. and a big water bottle since you will have to drink will feeding your baby

you don’t NEED a pump unless you plan on goign out without your baby or you are working- but you may need some nipple cream and breast pads

  11. Erika (Nina and Brady's Mom) says:
