Hi I have expressed breast milk for my baby because he would never latch on, my milk supply is reducing more and more and even though I keep trying my baby will not latch at all. How would you get a bottle fed baby to latch on after 5 months? maybe you have some useful tips for me!! ( my baby is 6 weeks old)

Yes, I read somewhere in the Baby Magazine, there are certain tablets you get from the doctor and that would stimulate milk production. Thats why its so easy to breast feed an adopted child these days.

Yes, It’s possible, but not easy as it was 5 months ago!
Try a simple breast pump, they are quite cheap, and pump every few hours, this should start the cycle of the milk producing in your boob,.

Yes it is possible, but it might take a while for you milk supply to return so you will have to supplement with formula for the first few weeks.

I would most definitely get a good breast pump (medela makes some good ones!) and get in touch with a lactation consultant.
I’m curious as to how you had financial problems with breastfeeding, however…

Sure it is. It WILL take some dedication, work, and patience but it’s not entirely impossible. You should firstly get in contact with a lactation consultant in your local area. Set up a meeting with them and they should be able to guide you.

This is called relactation or induced lactation.
Go to the website below for the full description. It is not for the faint of heart, takes a lot of dedication and commitment. But so worth it!

If adoptive mothers can induce lactation to breastfeed their adoptive babies, you can most definitely relactate.
Start putting baby to your breast as often as possible, ideally every 2-3 hours. Get in contact with a certified lactation consultant or your local La Leche League for support.
