They have these compartment containers they sell at Target that allows you to put the amount of dry formula in them to the measurement you need. It looks like a round pill pox.
Have the bottle already filled with the baby water.
When it’s time to make a bottle, grab one out of your diaper bag and just add the powder.
The bottle won’t be warm to drink but room temp. should be fine.
If you want to make life even easier, they sell most formulas in ready to serve containers. Just pack and go.
If you are not in a terribly hot climate, you can mix the formula then keep it in the refridgerator over might. THis will get it really cold. By the time the baby is ready for it while you are out, there will be no need to heat it. It will be room temperature by then!
ALso you can use individual pacages of powdered formula and already have your bottle filled with water.
Buy a jug of water (preferably the baby water stuff-not sure of the brand but it has a pink lid and it’s distilled and has fluoride) to take with you or to pre-fill the bottles you will need for the day. You can now buy packs of powdered formula that are the single packs you can just dump right in. Make sure you have enough for each bottle, I’m not sure how many ounces one makes so check to see. Prepare the bottles only when you need them and they can be drank at room temperature, as long as your room temperature is not too hot or too cold. Dispose of the bottled formula within an hour.
Get a formula dispenser(some have three sections, some have four) and measure out the correct amount of formula. Then bring along a bottle of water and make each bottle as needed. You’ll obviously have to take along the appropriate number of bottles.
If a formula dispenser is too small(you need more than 4 feeds) then take formula and the scoop along in a small container and scoop out the correct amount of formula that way.
I wouldn’t make them all up at once because if you do it this way it needs to be stored in the fridge. Making them up as you go using room temp. water from a bottle of water is your best bet for while you’re out.
Only prepare one bottle to take with you and take the can of formula with you or measure it out in ziplock bags and take them with you. Formula is only good outside the fridge for an hour after it’s made, so it would sour if you are out longer. Just about any place you go has a bathroom so you can get hot water there.
If you use powder, they make these nifty little three compartment containers that you pre-measure the powder into. Take the bottles with the correct amount of water and mix as you need. I’d say any store that carries baby products would have these.
If you use concentrate or pre-mixed, you are probably going to have to take a cooler.
When I used formula, this is what I did:
Put the water in the bottle(s). Measure powdered formula and put each bottles’ worth into its own ziploc bag (for accuracy). Mix as you go (make sure to shake the heck out of the bottle when you mix, bend the nipple & hold it down so none gets clogged in there).
If using liquid, canned formula, take a can opener with you (providing the cans aren’t pop-top), a small funnel and your bottles.
I’d boil the water, and put it in a big water bottle.
Put the right quantity of powder in each “baby bottle”. Now you just have to pour from the big water bottle directly in the baby bottle and shake.
Of course that is if bringing one bottle per feed would OK, obviously this might be cumbersome if you’re gone for an entire weekend.
some people say to keep the bottles in a cooler but then the milk is cold and my daughter always hates cold formula and never drinks it. i had to take a road trip with my 8 month old to a relative’s house. what i did was packed all the bottles and the can of powdered formula. i put the set amount of water (depending on how much fomula you want to make) in the bottles before hand. then just add the scoops of powder when its time to eat. that way the formula is room temp. and fresh.
I found these awesome single serve packets of Enfamil formula when I had to travel last month. Most stores carry them and they are great. You can take some bottles of water with you or I asked to get a warm glass of water. Most gas stations will have a microwave you can use, although they usually aren’t very clean.
Hope this helps you!
Get a gallon of babywater that you can put in your car and backpack. Bring either the can of formula with you or they have little divider contains to hold formula if you are out and about. There’s three sections so you can make three different bottles.
fill the right amount of powder in each bottle and leave the bottle alone. Then take water bottles or containers with water and make as you go.
You can do that the other way to. You can take the formula and have water already in the bottle
We use powder formula so I just have a extra can in the diaper bag. I carry bottles of nursery water and the bottles. When she gets hungry I just mix it together. Its easy.

hi i used to take the bottles with water in them. and had a special tub for the correct ounces of formula.. when my son wanted his feed i just mixed 1 portion of formula to his water..
Get an ice pack and freezer bag and put some milk or breast milk (whatever you use in it). That way the milk stays cold. Then just put the formula in the container you use and mix when ready!
the best thing for these whole day adventures, is to take bottled water and powered formula.. because they canned formula can spoil is prolonged sun or heat exposure. hope i helped
Wal mart and some other places sell containers with rotating caps that hold premeasured amounts of formula for multiple bottles. they are very handy.
Bring bottled water and formula and scoop in a plastic container or small formula jar/can
what you’re going somewhere they don’t have water?
