How To Choose The Gender Of Your Baby
I’m going to START weaning when my daughter is 1. I’m not going to STOP, but I’m going to gradually get her off it and onto cow’s milk at one.
EDIT: Ivny01, my daughter is strictly breastfed (3 1/2 months) and has been sleeping 9-10 hours at night since 3 weeks!
My son stoped at 15 months because I was expecting and he didnt like it anymore. He will still occasionally ask and he is 2. My daughter is 7 months and I plan to go atleast until she is 18 months, maybe until 2 I havent decided yet. Breastmilk is really good for your baby, and it is recommened to go for atleast a year the World Health Organization says 2 years. Also breastfeeding for 2 years (not in a row but total) brings your breastcancer risk down alot. If you are trying to wean do it slowly 1 feeding at a time go 3-5 days between dropping the feedings. Always start with the ones durring the day and work up to the morning and night feedings do them last as they are the ones your little one is least happy about giving up. Sebastian had a hard time giving up his night feeding. When they ask to nurse just distract them or give them something to eat or drink instead of the breast. When your child is asking to nurse it is usually because they are hungry/thursty. Good luck!

finaly i spoke to a lactation specialist who told me to put a cabbage leaf in my bra around each breast to dry me up
It worked!!!!! and baby did not lke the taste of milk so she took her cuppy more,
My mom stopped breastfeeding my brother when he was 2 yrs old.
12 months, I reduced slowly, by one feeding a day. I never got engorged or had any issues.
first tooth…..they were sharp teeth…..
i actually had a hard time producing so she was bottle and breast until about 41/2 months…
2-3 weeks- I just couldn’t stand doing it! Plus, when I switched to formula- he slept through the night instead of waking up every two hours to feed, which was great……
I never pumped- so I can’t help you there…. I just dealt with the discomfort- and each day it got a little better- you have to refrain from feeding from the breast while you’re trying to dry up the milk- or you’ll just keep producing- and it’ll be impossible…… good luck
I breastfed my daughter until she was about 8 months old. She just simply pushed me away and made a funny face one day and that was it. For the next week I occasionally tried to feed her but she just didn’t want me which was sad but OK because she had been on formula as well.
Both my kids were between 15-18 months. One day I just said – hey you’re done. I mean they were both just in it for the comfort anyway, so we found alternative methods for getting to sleep, dealing with stress, etc.

All diffferent. My first was 6 weeks. I thought I couldn’t do it and go back to work. I took the medicine that dried me up. My second didn’t breastfeed at all. My third was 9 months, and just quit on his own. My fourth was 14 months, and just quit on her own. I tried the pump, but they wouldn’t take a bottle. So, I went to their daycare on my lunch break, and fed them.

my first daughter quit nursing after two years of age……she self weaned…and for a while after that we used comfort nursing

I had twins with my first pregnancy. I stopped around 4 months. It was just way too hard feeding two babies. As soon as I would get one to start, the other would want to eat. And I could never do them both at the same time. I just started reducing it each day, until I felt it was ok to stop. My doctor said that I was lucky I lasted as long as I did, most moms of twins end much sooner. I am 23 weeks in my second pregnancy, twins again. I am planning to breastfeed them, but maybe a little longer. I never used a pump unless I really had to. I got hardly anything for the amount of time I spent pumping.
