I lost all of my baby weight plus an additional 15 lbs. within a month of having my daughter.

Breastfeeding is actually one of the best ways to lose weight. It burns lots of calories. Plus, it reaffirms the emotional and physical bond with your baby.

    I gained 48 pounds, you’re lucky.
I’m about 10 pounds away from PPW, but I would suggest you breastfeed, it’s a really quick way to shrink the uterus thereby shrinking your stomach

Each person (and pregnancy) is different so there is no concrete answer. Keeping the fluids up and pushing the baby in a stroller when he was old enough helped me. Breastfeeding can dispense another 500 cals daily. Keep that in mind

You are very very lucky to only put on 20lbs :)
It depends on your body type to know how much you will loose… my daughter is 3 months old, and I’m breastfeeding, I’ve lost about 20lbs.
Give it time, wait to exercise until about week 4, let your body heal before you do anything drastic… the best way to loose weight and stay healthy for your baby, I think, is to drink a glass of water before lunch and dinner, that way you are full before you start eating, so you will eat less, but still get nutrition for you and your baby!
Keep up with the prenatal pills too, they will help!
    Good luck!

    20 weeks–give or take.One lb. a week is a good goal.
BTW,I have 4 children, all breast fed,and still have not lost all the weight I put on…and my youngest is 7!! :(
Best wishes to you and the little one!

I couldn’t breastfeed because my son was on a feeding tube (Born almost 3 months early), but I pumped milk to be put in his tube and I lost about 20 pounds in the 10 weeks he was in the hospital.

It all depends. With my first I gained 40 lbs. and lost 50 within 4-5 months. This time I gained the same and still haven’t lost it all…and she is 7 months old.

I believe it really depends on genetics – how was your mothers recovery?
You had a baby last week! Don’t worry about your weight! Your body is healing itself. First, you will lose your baby weight (right after birth, of course), then you will slowly lose your fluid weight (from the extra blood volume, water retention, etc), and then your body will start picking away at the extra fat, if you gained any.
Drink lots of water, eat as much as you can (your body is healing!) And enjoy yourself.
