How Long After Breaking Your Child Of Breastfeeding Did It Take You To Become Pregnant?

My son was stubborn about breastfeeding, and I only recently broke him of it. He is almost 18 months now, and me and my husband are ready for number two.
We haven’t been using any form of birth control sense the birth of our son, however the breastfeeding seems to have prevented any new pregnancy’s.
Does anyone know how long it takes for breastfeeding to stop effecting fertility?

I breastfed 4 children. I would not even start my period till after I quit breastfeeding, which was just another plus for me to continue breastfeeding. First congrats on the 18 mos of breastfeeding. My longest breastgeeding was 1 year.
Now to your question. I was quick to get pregnant usually about 3 to 4 months between each pregnancy. You should go see your OB/GYN and see if there may be other issues. Everyone’s body is differnt but give it time and patience. Goodluck!
