In what way would the fact that you are breastfeeding keep you from getting pregnant?
Oh, so now I am a dumbass, because I have never heard of breastfeeding preventing pregnancy? I am pregnant and no I haven't given birth and breastfed, but I have never read anywhere anything like that.. so..................

Not sure about the birth control but, one thing for sure, breastfeeding helps you shrink your womb...
Your womb enlarges up to 1,000 grams during pregnancy. And, it will shrink about 50 grams right after delivery.
The shrinking process occurs while you have contractions for you are producing a hormone called oxytocin.
That’s why doctors ask you to breastfeed the baby right away after delivery. Because while you breastfeed, your gland also releases oxytocin.
So, it’s good for you, it’s good for your baby.

It's not an effective form. You might get away with not conceiving this time, but don't count on breastfeeding as being an effective means.

You are in a bad place right now. I didn't have a period and was breastfeeding and using the minipill when I got pregnant with what would have been my 3rd(had a miscarriage from the minipill which is why I'm now against birth control pills as a form of birth control) If you think you could be pregant you need to either stop the pill ASAP if the mishap was recent or if you are still taking the minipill because you didn't know and you could be testing for pregnancy soon, then you need to know that it can increase your risk to miscarry and to call your dr to ask what you should do. I stopped the pill the moment I found out I was pregnant(went in for a measles booster and they test you for pregnancy first since if you are pregnant they can't give it to you) I stopped taking the pill that night and within a couple of days I miscarried. THEN the dr told me I shouldn't have stopped the pill as it can cause miscarriage...gee thanks doc!

breastfeeding alone is not a form of birthcontrol! my friend with an 12 month old and a newborn can attest to that! use something else unless you want your little one to have a very clsoe in age sibling :)

Ova ring.
Don't take the pill, it is bad for you.
Breastfeeding is great for the baby.
I would recommend getting off the pill.

Breastfeeding is not a form of birth control! One girl I know has 2 children 10 1/2 months apart...and she was breast feeding! No period doesn't always mean not ovulating. I worked at an OB/GYN and never once heard them use it as a form of birth control. Breastfeeding is great for the baby and also can help a new mother lose weight a bit faster, but thats it!
