How Do You Know When You Are Ovulating While You Are Breastfeeding?

My doctor said you don’t get your period while breastfeeding but you still ovulate. What are the signs? Do you still have the same signs from the time you weren’t breastfeeding?
Im not sure i would try the ovulating test though
I believe you can track cervical mucus, core body temperature, etc..but I’m not sure.
i think what your doc meant was that even tough you don’t have byour period you can still get pregnant and ovulate before you period is to come without knowing it. i know im havent ovulated yet unless i am right now because i have not had a period.a period is when your body gets rid of the egg that you ovulated or released it is awhole process. you can check your cervical mucus or you cna buy an ovualtion kit

I have my period and I’m breastfeeding. It came back at 5mths post partum with both of my kids.
I know I’m ovulating because I feel it, its painful and thats how I track it. I even got pregnant 7 months post partum while breastfeeding this year!
I think you need a new doctor because if you ovulate, you get a period, plain and simple! If you dont ovulate, you dont get a period.
You don’t always ovulate while breastfeeding. It’s really hard to know for certain. You can TRY charting your cycles, but even those aren’t relyable 100% of the time while breastfeeding because it masks the symptoms hence baby number 5! My advice would be, if you are trying to avoid getting pregnant, is just assume you are ALWAYS fertile and use protection.
