How do you feel about mothers breastfeeding their children above the age of 3 and even when the kid is about 5?

How To Choose The Gender Of Your Baby
I have three children all breast fed and happy how ever the longest I have fed for is 18 months. By this time baby should be on full solids so there is no need for the breast. I new of a lady who would feed two of her children in front of every one and they where 4 and 6. They would just walk up to her and help them selves. It made me sick. There is no need for it.
Every health organization says to nurse to x age “and then as long as mother and child desire”. I think it’s only benefiting mother and child (and not sexually- that’s just such an **idiotic** thing to think) so who is to say that it’s wrong when there’s absolutely no proof of it ever being detrimental? I don’t know why it’s ok to give a child milk made for a baby calf but not milk designed especially for that child.
i would personally only breasfead to maybe 3 tops..probably stop sooner than that, im not sure yet, i dont have any children. i think after the age of 3 thats when it gets sorta odd..but every woman is different and is comfortable with different things, some woman arent even comfortable with breastfeading at all, so its personal choice, and im not going to frown about anyone that wants to breasfeed after 3, i just personally wouldnt.

if that was the case my son would be weans at 3mths most children get there 1st tooth by 6mths…
extended BF is seen out of the norm in america… other countrys feed untel 5-7 there is NOTHING sextual about BFing.. giving a child the benifits of breastmilk are what keeps people going.,.. Brestmilk has shown to improve mental disabled childrens bodys and brain function… it is the BEST food out there… even You can live off it..
it what our bodys were made to drink as babys and children… most countrys EXCLUSILY BF untill the child is 2.5 then Slowly add food.. with most children being totaly off the breast by 6-7 years old…

I feel it is absolutely none of my business. My son is 17 months old and still breastfeeds and I plan to nurse him until he weans himself. While I am hoping that will be when he is two I can’t promise that…and until you walk in a woman’s shoes that nurses a toddler I don’t think it is right to judge.
Bottom line is…her kid, her body, her decision.
ETA: Shorts…are you serious with the sexual satisfaction?? You are the sick one. Nursing mom’s don’t think that way. Ignorance. Ugh.
I’m sorry…but offering a breast to a five year old is just over the top.
Breastfeeding is usually over by two, since the child is now eating regular food, and has no need of breast milk. The whole “comfort” angle strikes me as creepy when the child isn’t a toddler any more.
I guess I would have to say mother’s choice, though it is a little…odd.
That being said, when I become a parent (not for many years), I plan to breastfeed until he/she can talk. I just think I would not feel comfortable doing it after that.
3 and a half is maximum I think. after that it just gets too much and gross. By 3 and a half, the kid is old enough to bribe out of the nursing habit.
It’s a personal decision that is none of my business.

It would bother me if I saw it in public, but if it was in the privacy of there own home, or somewhere where i did not have to see it, then so be it.
Not for me, but hey, not my kid.
What a lot of people seem to refuse to take into consideration, is that EVERYONE in public deserves to be comfortable, not just a mother and her breastfeeding ‘baby’.
I feel at this point the woman is getting more sexual satisfaction out of it than the child it getting wholesome food. Children should be weaned at the first tooth. Otherwise the woman is getting off exposing her breasts and being suckled.
