Hey ladies! I’ve heard that rubbing Lanolin on your nipples before breastfeeding is a good way to help prepare them, which I have been doing. Are there any other ways to get them ready? I’m expecting my first in a week and I could totally use the advice from women who have experience. Thanks!

tell your husband to pinch and suck them hard

hmmm i would be careful about preparing too much – if you over stimulate your nipples it can make you uterus contract and send you into preterm labour.
the old lanolin trick is a bit of an old wives tale to be honest – your nipples dont need toughened up – and while applying lanolin wont hurt, just be careful you stimulate them TOO much!!
The baby will toughen them up enough when he or she gets here!! But keep the lanolin handy for after you start to help with things like cracked nipples etc.
Good luck with your birth!!
I never prepared but once i started feeding if my nipples were sore i used to express a small amount of milk rub it all over the nipple and leave it to dry also keeping them uncovered if you get the chance helps. It can be sore if the baby doesn’t latch on properly but once you have both mastered the technique you will be fine.
Good luck hope all goes well for you x
