Can You Mix Cold Boiled Water With Hot Boiled Water To Make Luke Warm Water To Add Baby Powder Formula?

In order to prepare fresh baby formula I store boiled water in individual bottles in the fridge so I have it on hand. Instead of warming the cold water in a bottle warmer or under hot running water I add hot boiled water instead to get it luke warm so I can then add the baby formula powder. I was wondering if this is safe as I have not been able to find this method of preparing formula on any websites.

As long as the additional water is freashly boiled too, and is making up the required amount of water for the amount of formula then I see no harm. In UK it is recommended that each feed is made separately with boiling water to kill off any bacteria lurking in the formula powder, but any mum knows this is impractical as it then takes an hour to cool down to a temp a baby can drink it at- impossible with screaming baby fed on demand!
I have to say I was “guilty” of preparing feeds in batches of 2 or 3 with boiling water then stored in coldest part of fridge, just cos I was worried about potential bacteria in formula, but I really don’t think thee is a “right” way.
It’s fine. Just make really, really sure it’s well mixed – a hot spot could damage your baby’s mouth. Probably not an issue unless you are filling the bottles really full. If there’s no room for the liquid to slosh around when you shake it because it fills the whole bottle, it won’t mix well and could be dangerous.
my 3 month old drinks hers stright from the fridge… always has. either that or room temp if were out… i have never given her a warm bottle… and she doesnt have any problems.. i was reccommended this by a friend.
Why did I get thumbs down for anwsering honestly? My baby has no problems at all with her stomach and is not fussy… She does spit up but thats usually only when she sucks it down really fast.
Of course that is fine! The reason you don’t see this method of preparing formula on any websites is because it is pretty complicated! Just make sure that it’s not too hot for your baby, which I imagine you already do.
Sounds fine to me (and actually like quite a good idea!). As long as it is boiled and you’re only mixing cold and hot water and not cold/warm milk or formula together, I don’t see any problem with that.
Yes thats how i make my bottles every day hun!
If I didnt my little monster would scream the house down waiting for his bottles to cool down for him!
yes that will be fine as long as the cold water that has been stored was boiled before.
I do this all the time.
well i did this for mine and she 6 now
