Agreed. I think breastfeeding is a beautiful thing, but that doesn’t mean I wanna see your “girlfriends”. She should have been respectful and covered herself.

Totally agreed. All for public breastfeeding, just keep them covered, as children and other bystanders shouldn’t have to see. Maybe she’s so used to it at home, she simply forgot? lol Still wrong.

Michelle I agree with you, why did she have to expose both of them, because she could, this is wrong sitting out in public like this exposed. There was no reason at all for this and she certainly showed very Little decency.

Yeah she could have, and probably should have. I’m a breastfeeding mother and I try to cover up as much as possible because I’m shy like that.
I know there are laws to protect breastfeeding mothers, but I’m not sure if letting the other one hang out is protected under those laws.

I totally agree with what you are saying. When I breastfed my son I always had a muslin square and threw it over my shoulder and baby’s head so only myself could see. I usually used Mother & Baby’s rooms anyway. There’s no reason why this lady couldn’t cover the other boob as it was not in use.

Ya I’m a “lactivist” and self proclaimed “breastfeeding nazi” and whatever else you want to call us…
but even I can see the difference between “Nursing in public” and “Nursing whilst topless at the mall”
Quite honestly…setting the argument aside for a minute…the fact of the matter is…if you’re doing it right…there’s a good chance no one will even know.

That must have been interesting! LOL! Obviously, it wasn’t bothering her!? My relative was not very discreet either when she was breastfeeding in front of the relatives, and we all saw more than we wanted. I do think that we need to consider those around us, as there are ways to breastfeed publicly without making it so obvious.

I agree with you! Breastfeeding from one breast does not require you to open your entire blouse and expose both breasts! I too have nothing against breastfeeding in public, and do it myself, but I try hard to be as discreet as possible! I guess it’s all about your comfort level, I wouldn’t be comfortable doing that in public.

I will say that was disgusting and classless.
I am like you, breastfeeding is great. But there’s also such thing as respect for others, and covering up. There is such thing as being modest and having respect for yourself and your child.
I will say that the woman was out of line. I don’t like seeing anything inappropriate that is showing too much cleavage or too much breast on any woman, even if the woman is breastfeeding in public.

That’s weird. Suppose she didn’t realize her other breast was uncovered?
I would figure that was the case. If you would have said to her, “Excuse me, your other breast is exposed” She would have said, “OH! Thank you and covered up.” Sometimes your clothes get rustled up and you don’t always realize it. Like if a lady’s skirt gets tucked into her panties by accident. She’s walking around with her skirt up in the back, not because she is being indecent, but because it was an accident.
