They don’t have SMA where we’re going, so would it be ok to use the local formula to save carrying loads of tins with us? Has anyone successfuly changed formula on holiday and had no upset tummy etc?

My Husband And I Don’t Want To Take Childbirth Or Baby Care Classes. Did You Take The Classes?

October 28, 2009 by admin

I have helped raise my two little brothers and I have taken care of kids for many years.
My husband has never really been around kids and held a newborn baby for the first time a couple of months ago.
I found 3 childbirth DVDs that have childcare, breastfeeding, Lamaze, etc on it. Its about 6 hours on each DVD.
We were thinking about watching the interactive DVDs and reading the many baby books we bought.
If he felt uncomfortable still, then we would go to the classes.
Did you take the classes? Any advice?

What Percentage Of Moms Are Still Breastfeeding When The Child Is 1 Year Old?

I always get props for breastfeeding my daughter for 21 months, and for still going with my son who is 11 months old. As I see it, if you stay at home, and if you don’t do drugs or have HIV, there’s no excuse for not going a year. (And before I had kids I thought breastfeeding was abhorrent and swore I would never do it!) I’m just wondering, since the AAP says you should go at least a year, how many moms are still doing it and when do they usually quit?

Is Anyone Looking For Botanically Based Baby Care Products?

October 22, 2009 by admin

I was wondering if anyone was interested in sampling some baby care products. Many baby care products contain mineral oil, the molecular structure of which is too large to penetrate the pores of our skin, sitting on the top layer like saran wrap. These products get wiped off over time and give little to no benefit but rather a temporary feeling of softness. Babys in particular need pure water based products that will penetrate their skin and deeply condition and hydrate with the proper ingredients. Arbonne has a great baby care line that is botanically-based and pH correct, pediatrician and dermatologist tested, non-sensitizing, non-irritating, and formulated without nut oils. They are formulated with natural ingredients like oat flour which is an emollient and an emulsifier. It’s highly absorbent and hypoallergenic. Oat flour helps to soothe and soften dry, itchy and sensitive skin. I’m curious to hear your thoughts. If anyone is interested, I would be happy to send you a free sample.
